India Taylor: Listening Page
"21st CENTURY WORLD" - If you don’t like the idea of computers phoning you to sell you insurance, or the very thought of your clone running around with your money, you’ll dig this humorous look at coping with life in the new 21st Century.
(India Taylor)
The telephone rings; I stop what I'm doin'
A voice says hello, but it's not human
It's a computer calling -- yuk! -- to sell me insurance! I hang up.
CHORUS:
I'm a little old fashioned girl living in a 21st century world ...
If I had a clone, I'd get more done; she'd do my job and I'd have fun, but she'd have my face; she'd have my pay!
I think I'll keep my DNA.
(repeat chorus)
Bridge:
But I wouldn't go back to the old days, before the web page, before the microwave.
So I'm speedin' down this brave new road, feelin' like a one-woman rodeo;
Fingers on the laptop, chin on the phone.
Leave me a message, 'cause I'm not home!
(repeat chorus)
