"LIKE TEXAS WEATHER" - Award-winning, stormy account of the seasons of a relationship, introduced by a ghostly "coyote howl" from an electric guitar. "She can't save her love for another rainy day ..."
(India Taylor)
There's a coyote kind of howl to the breeze.
Leaves and feathers fall from the trees.
Like a lizard, she wants to slither 'neath a rock when he comes home slammin' doors.
She knows right away he's had a bad day, blowin' in like a nor'wester, like Texas weather.
The rustin' rooster spins and changes direction.
The room brightens up when he smiles and shows affection.
Her heart is moved like the wind chimes, softly singin' of love again.
Because of that sound, she's hangin' around, waitin' for things to get better, like Texas weather.
Bridge:
When love turns dark and strange, emotions rearrange, and like the Texas weather, you know somethin's got to change.
She switches on the forecast for tomorrow.
Then she turns it off, 'cause today cannot be borrowed.
She can't save her love for another rainy day,
so she packs up her dreams, while she can see, before her eyes get wetter, like Texas weather.
